Festivals: T in the Park
T in the Park is about to kick off and promises to be a belter. As the festival is only a few days away, we have rounded up some fun facts for you to enjoy:
Back in 2004 it had the country’s longest urinal, stretching the length of two football pitches.
17,000 people attended the first festival in 1994, with only 2000 choosing to camp. Nowadays the three-day event attracts up to 255,00 people along with 70 000 campers, making it one of UK’s largest events.
During the three days T in the Park becomes Scotland’s fifth largest town.
All the beer sold at T in the Park is brewed 36 hours before start. Since 1994 more than 3 million pints of lager have been consumed.
The festival's economic impact on Scotland runs up to £10m every year.
